GearAmerica soft shackles are a superior alternative to heavy steel shackles or hooks offering a lighter, safer, and easier connection solution for your off-road recovery needs. Synthetic shackles are widely used for towing, off-road rigging and recovery as well as in various marine applications. 

Made from ½ inch Ultra High Performance Spectra rope, it weighs a mere 5 ounces while boasting a hefty breaking strength of 45,000 lbs  - ensuring a high safety margin for most recreational and off-road uses. 

Because synthetic shackles contain no metal, they won’t rust and are so light they float. The 8” loop is flexible enough to wrap around almost any anchor point and the soft material won't scratch the paint or damage the finish of your vehicle.  A single-piece construction ensures there is no fumbling with screwing a pin.

I have used them twice to tie to a tree trunk and re-load my winch (by pulling the truck at a slight incline while idling in reverse). They are really easy to use and provide lots of confidence in the harmlessness if they would become flying debris after a break. The biggest advantage is in the room that you have to loop-in both ends of the trunk-saving nylon strap that would have otherwise had to be squeezed into a metal shackle.

I use these with my recovery ropes to connect to my truck's tow-hooks when I need to pull people out. Much better and safer than metal shackles and they don't damage the paint.

Dude, bought these to pull panels for high tension fabric structures. My co worker didn't like that I didn't get blocks with swivels, but these with the aluminum blocks from gear America swivel enough that it wasn't an issue. If needed to rotate 90° I would've just added a shackle. Put a lot of tension on the blocks and soft shackles. Really like how light everything is as opposed to steel counterparts. 2 thumbs up, boys.
