Firstly, Gear America makes very good quality gear, at a good price. They properly rate and responsibly market their recovery gear. I recently got some straps of several brands and the Gear America were the ones properly marked for loads, and with the best workmanship. So I trust and recommend the brand. I'm not on the fence on these gloves, I can recommend them, but with one caveat: While for the retail price these are very good work gloves, I do not think these are right for steel cable. I have synthetic on mine, but if you have steel cable especially, but even any cable, I would spend about 50% more, which is not much, and get gloves with full reinforced coverage on the palms and inside of finger area, and Kevlar. They do not need to be that bulkily, just more on the palms and some amount of cut protection. Again, these are good gloves. One sizing, I have pretty much medium to large hands for a mans hands, and these "mediums" fit well. They have some stretch and fit if your hands are on the large size. And you will not be wearing them all day. So medium are really a one size fits all, and a good size for a man with medium to large men's hands.

I ordered these gloves to try out as a potential replacement for some older gloves that I had. My use case is probably best described as multi-purpose rather than for "winching, rigging, & towing". But they have been great at protecting my hands and making different jobs easier. Pros: - Extra padding at common wear areas are a great addition - Bumpers on the outside of gloves help when your hands get pushed or hit against objects (something my other gloves don't help with) - High vis orange color is DEFINITELY high visibility - Ventilated for hot weather - Fit well for my hands and were comfortable Criticisms: - Although there are slits on what I call the bumpers for the backs of your hands, the gloves still restrict motion slightly. I would describe them as "stiff" and would compare it to a very very starchy jacket or jeans. - Wrists are a bit big for me so not as sealed, but these are probably made more generic to fit a variety of users

I wear them when using heavier tools to avoid harming myself by mistake, and they've been great so far. They provide lots of grip, and the velcro on the wrist actually holds them on very securely. I wouldn't use these if you need any feeling through the gloves, so no precision work as these completely eliminate that. I would recommend these for heavier duty usage as the advertising suggests. Great gloves!

These gloves fit beautifully and give you a strong, protected grip that keeps you from getting blisters when you are pulling and tugging on tow ropes or chains. They are flexible, giving your hands freedom of movement while keeping them protected from the weather and the items you are working with. The grip material is excellent, and doesn't allow your hands to slip. Great bright color too if you are working a road crew or towing a vehicle at night. Easy to see in the dark. Work great for hauling wood in you happen to heat with wood! Best protective gloves I've tried.

There are other well reasoned reviews here I won't repeat their points. My personal opinion is that these are lighter weight than I expected but that is not necessarily a bad thing. What I find is that the most common way I hurt my hands when using gloves is by taking them off. These are flexible with good finger cups so that I can use most tools, tie knots etc without getting frustrated and taking them off. The knuckle guards are nice too since bashing the back of my hand is another common mistake. I have 3 1/2 inch fingers and the medium size fit perfectly -- snug enough to work easily but not too small.

These gloves will help with recovery efforts when on the trails. They could be used for solid mechanics gloves or just a favorite pair of work gloves. There is a lot of padding in these. Reinforced portions of the glove where you need it most. These are going to go in our recovery bag. That way there is a dedicated set of gloves that will always be there. Don't want to be on the trail without gloves. GearAmerica makes a lot of different recovery products some in which we have used for over 4 years. These gloves look like they will handle what we throw at them. Plus they are bright enough that hopefully we can find them quickly when we need them most.

These are sturdy thick gloves that seem sturdily made. I got medium and should have gotten large so they are a little small for me but I can still use them. They have especially good cushions on the back of the fingers that I haven't seen before. They would be good protection in applications that risk splitting your knuckles. The palms seem well protected too. For me, the fingers are usually what goes first. These look like they will last well but I haven't had them long enough to know how long yet. Besides getting the wrong size I have no complaints

The GearAmerica gloves work great for exactly what they are specified to do. I use them when hauling stuff, and when off-roading. They fit as expected and are very comfortable and well made.

Can be used for much more than just winching and recovery! The palms and fingers are reinforced with thick rubber-like ribs. The bright orange makes them very visible for safety. Fit snugly and are comfortable, yet clearly made for the tough jobs! It helps to know that these gloves come with a lifetime replacement warranty. I have already put mine to use with great results.

I've been using these gloves for various things outdoors and love them because if the rubber on the outside part of the fingers. No more smashing my fingers while splitting and stacking wood. They have also held up great with no holes after a week or so. I got a medium which fit me real good as I'm a female.

I've been using them to work on cars and they keep my fingers clean and safe. Can't complain when they serve their exact purpose. As a bonus, they're also comfortable to wear.

The gloves are very sturdy for their intended purpose. As a result though, they are a bit stiff for lighter work.

I found these ran a little bigger than I expected. I usually wear a large nitrile glove for work and typically get a large in Mechanix gloves as well. These medium sized gloves were actually quite comfortable on my hands. Overall very pleased.

These came in time for doing some yard cleanup after the recent hurricane. I used these when cutting and cleaning up downed trees in our area. They seem very tough and fit comfortably.

I really like the extra padding these have in the palms of them. They fit great and seem to have a good stitching like they will last for years.
