Lightweight, easy to assemble and to break down, this thing made the float trip much more comfortable than sleeping on rocks on a pad like previously

Bottom Line: The FE Active Folding Camping Cot let me get GREAT night's sleep, ever night, for 5 consecutive nights on my last motorcycle camping trip through the TN and NC mountains. I don't review products often but this one deserves 6 stars! Summary: My 62-year-old back was letting me know that if I intended to keep tent camping from a motorcycle, an upgrade was needed for my sleep setup. I already own a good sleeping pad and decided that the next step was to get it off the ground. After a bit of research, I found this cot and am extremely happy with my purchase! After 9 hours of riding I set up camp and got 7+ hours of high-quality sleep. I woke up refreshed and my back felt great. The next day I rode another 8 hours to the next camp site where I got another great night's sleep, same thing the next night, and the next... by the 4th night this cot became a permanent part of my camping gear. Details: I ordered the cot with enough time to learn how to set it up and make sure it fit in my Marmot 3P Tungsten tent. My initial impressions were: 1) the aluminum tubing is sturdy, 2) the man-made fabric is tough and won't stretch if it gets wet, 3) the seams are well stitched and, 4) it requires some thoughtfully placed body weight to set up. Setup\takedown is easily done outside of the tent, it's a bit more difficult when you have to do it inside a low ceiling tent because it's raining out. Once setup, the cot fabric stretches tight and provides a firm foundation for a sleeping pad. I sleep on my side and back and this cot provided ample room for me to be very comfortable, which ever position I ended up in. The cot added about 5 minutes to my tent setup and ~7 when breaking camp. It re-packed nicely into its storage pouch. The cot's ten plastic feet are wide and provide good weight distribution. If you don't set your tent up on sharp rocks, they shouldn't wear out the tent's ground pad or floor.

Update: Amazon assisted me in contacting the company. They were quick to respond and were very helpful. They asked for pictures and immediately sent me replacements. They also said they’d forward the pictures to their design department to see if there is a need to redesign. Very good company. The cots were great. Compact to fit two of them along with 2 sleeping bags, a tent, and other camping gear in a single bag that met the size and weight allowance for the aircraft. Highly recommend. I did a lot of reading before choosing this cot. My wife and I took a 2 week trip abroad and wanted to take a tent and camp. To keep comfortable we looked at the cots for weight and size as our check in luggage could only be 23kg. We bought 2 of these a month before leaving on our trip as to give us a chance to check they would work. They are very comfortable and kept us off the ground. We are overall pleased with these. The draw back, when I took them down after our third night to move on to another town, we noticed 2 of the legs were bent on each cot. Could not figure out how and they can’t be bent back. The rest of the trip we put the bent ones at the head and foot where less weight but overall disappointed they bent bc we really liked these cots and wanted to use them again on future trips. Bc we bought them 1.5 months before our trip, we can’t have them replaced. Will try to find a way to contact the company.

We were sick of air mattresses leaking and only lasting for a year or two so took a gamble on these right before a camping trip in yellowstone and they work great. Have camped with them 4 times now without issue. The canvas is sturdy and comfortable and the frame seems sturdy so far. Easy to set up and take down and is quite lite and compact. Not small enough to backpack with but for normal front country camping or just to use as a cot for a sleepover its perfect and should last several years. No more waking up to deflated mattresses!!!!!

I must admit I had my doubts after reading other reviews. A lot of reviews mentioned how difficult the cot was to set-up and given how much cheaper this one was than others out there, I had concerns about quality. Given some of the positive reviews, however, as well as the company's warranty, I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm very glad I did! Mine just arrived, so I haven't had a chance to use them in the field yet, however my first impressions are very positive. The set-up couldn't have been easier. I didn't encounter any of the issues others described in their reviews. The long poles went in with ease and the supports clipped on with very minimal effort. I did use the trick others mentioned about pushing one end against the ground to flex the support and clip the other end, which helped, but I was still able to do it with only a slight about of force. The cot was very comfortable and felt sturdy when I laid on it, though there was a tiny bit of noticeable flex when I tossed and turned. In terms of quality, the stitching seemed good, the cot material was sturdy, and the poles seemed solid. Will post an update once I had a few chances to use it.

I like that it’s lightweight, and packs small. the legs are a bit tricky to pack down. I read one review that said it could be used with less than all the legs, but I tried that when I misplaced one before a trip and I do not recommend that because it felt less stable, and more likely to break. I am not particularly big. I fit on it lengthwise and I am 5’8, but if you’re as tall as me and a belly sleeper with a size 10 feet, you might be a bit long for this cot. when I first bought it 4 years ago, I did not have a problem with it being so low to the ground, but now I can see what other reviewers were talking about it being low and somewhat hard to get up from. if you have trouble getting up from ground level, this is only about 6 inches off the ground. I do like it, but now I only take it when I absolutely need to pack light. I would not say that it is suitable for backpacking unless you aren’t hiking far and you don’t mind the extra size because even though it packs small, it is still someone bulky and cumbersome compared to other super lightweight cots. other than that, I have nothing bad to say. I like it.

This is a nice cot for the money; packs up easily and assembly is straightforward. Not the lightest versus some others, but they are usually far more expensive. Only had it a few months and already used it on several road and airline trips-great option to throw in the bag for a kid to sleep on so they don’t have to share a bed with a sibling.

One of my wrists can be a real stinker sometimes, so I wondered if I'd be able to set this up on my own power. I'm not fit in this phase of my life... my biceps found themselves up to it. Wrist managed ok. The cot is very comfortable. Well worth the effort to set up. Don't let the set up be a reason against this. Definitely doable.

UPDATE I contacted the seller and they made this right. They sent me another cot. They stand by their product. I bought one last year for my daughter to go to summer camp for a week. It worked out for her, so I bought one for my son for his week summer camp. As you can see from the pictures, the metal thing between the rods to connect slid down inside so the rod won’t stay straight . The black plastic split open and the rod wont stay on. Lastly, the little covers came off as you can see in the picture in yellow. My kids are not heavy kids, 100lbs each and this cot can hold double that weight. He only used that one week and couldn’t use it anymore. Iam hoping I can get a replacement as we really like this cot and Iam thinking we just got a defective one .

I'll be primarily using the cot on moto camping trips. It packs down small enough to fit inside a 20 litre backpack. Surprisingly light too. I'm about 200 lbs/90 kg, 5' 9"/176 cm and the cot is very comfortable for a side sleeper. Cot lies about 3 inches/7.5 cm off the ground. Getting up off the cot may be a challenge as a result. I simply sit up, swivel my feet off to one side of the cot before attempting to get off. Installation took less than 10 minutes. With the cot on its side and side beams inserted, hold the cross beam in one hand with the other on the side of the cot to steady it. Use your body weight to lean down on the cross beam slightly. Don't push down with your hand alone. I'd buy this cot again in a flash.

I love this cot. I've slept on a lot of cots and this is my favorite. I slept on this for 28 nights straight on a river trip. Easy to put together and take apart. Has some stretch so it didn't hurt my hips. It does dip but I never touched the ground. I'm 199 lbs and 5'7". I used a sleeping pad on top of the cot for the first week and eventually only slept on the cot. Material is easy to dry if it gets wet and easy to brush sand off of.

We purchased this cot as an additional bed for our teenager on a trip to Mexico. The travel bag fit easily into a suitcase and was light enough we didn't need to worry about going over the airline's weight limit. Assembly was easy and the teenager said the cot was very comfortable. There are a few minor cons - not enough to detract from our satisfaction with the purchase but things it would have been nice to know in advance of buying. Pros: - easy to pack - lightweight - comfortable for sleeping - easy assembly Cons: - On a hardwood floor, the cot is so lightweight it moved every time my teen sat on it, rolled over while sleeping, etc. Likely would be fine on carpet or other textured flooring/ground. - Takes some muscle to get the first support attached/removed - The travel bag could be slightly larger to make repacking a bit easier

We finally had a chance to test out these cots a few nights ago and we were both actually quite impressed. Now, to be fair, we did each have a self inflating pad on top of the cots, so I really have no idea how comfortable the cot is on it s own, but I can say if you do add a sleeping pad on top of this cot it is really pretty comfortable. The cot itself is pretty sturdy and stable side to side, but there is a bit of flex and motion length-wise if you move to much up and down. Assembly is fairly easy once you figure it out, but the cross bars can take a bit of grunt to get them in place. The whole thing fits in a (included) fairly small bag, and the bag is big enough to get all of the parts back in easily. Overall I am very happy with them. Time will tell as far as durability goes.

The cot arrived as described. The packed size is about a 17" x 6" cylinder. All the poles are shock corded and collapse to roll up within the fabric of the cot when stowed. The weight is 5 pounds. This small travel size makes it easier to pack for car camping using my 4 door crossover. I followed the video for easy set up instructions. Definitely use the ground as leverage to install the center support first and then add each additional leg, also using the ground for leverage to push against to get the pieces in place. You do need to press firmly to bow the bars so they fit into the corresponding cross piece. The fabric stretched taught and even at 5'-10", 165 pounds, there was plenty of support. The side pouch is handy for my phone, but the 'pillow' is a bit lame. I will repurpose that separate item for something else.

This cot is a game changer for car camping. So much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. I pair mine with a Thermarest Z Lite Sol camping pad — the type that folds rather than inflates. I find this to be more comfortable than pairing it with an inflatable pad, it lets you sink in a little more and feels more like a real bed. I have used it for about 20 nights of camping so far and really miss it when backpacking (I have to keep things light in my pack). The cot is easy to set up, just use the ground for leverage. Great purchase, I bought a second one for my Scout!

I wrote the review below and the company reached out to me immediately to resolve it. They refunded me completely and I'll be buying a new cot. They requested pics of the places it broke to help improve the design. I'm so impressed with this company I will absolutely purchase more products from them. Old review: Loved it at first but the poles broke in two separate places during the second use. It was used as directed, nothing out of the ordinary.

Real life review. I bought this cot for camping but ended up homeless right after getting it. Super comfortable cot, goes together easy, doesn't take up space, under 5lbs. Alot of reviews say it's hard to set up and thats lies and slander. No, the parts don't just snap into place, you need to use a little elbow grease and push them into spot. Don't be afraid to bow those poles to pop them into place, it's that tension that holds the whole cot together. I'm 5'10, 175 lbs and I fit comfortably. Side sleepers like myself, if you like to sleep in a ball you're out of luck. The poles for the cot are in the way but if you lay down straight or atleast kinda straight you'll be perfectly fine. I've slept amazingly on this cot.

Love how fast and easy this was to set-up. It was okay to sleep on for one night but I don’t know if my back could handle more than that. Also love how compact it is when you break down.
