I'm not in love with these scissors, I would have wanted something longer and pointier, perhaps. I presently have another pair with black handles which are longer and pointier, ("Office Pro" is etched onto the side of the blade), and they work pretty good for my long hair, which I'm cutting myself by parting my hair as for pigtails, then bringing it all to the front and cutting across. This method is incredibly fast and easy and it doesn't give a clean line in the back once finished, and it doesn't give layers, but it's darned good for getting the right length with a decent V profile in back. So, for this method of cutting, straight across a large section of hair .... these scissors are a little small. I haven't tried them for this technique that I use, yet, because I just cut my hair recently, but I just know that these are on the small side for this technique. I see them more for adding layers and stuff like that. I really wanted to test them out, so I decided to cut little wispy sections at my ears and the middle of my forehead, and wow, these were fun to use for that because they're so darned sharp! I'm still keeping these because the quality is great and with great quality comes more potential, and so with use, I may switch to these as my main haircutting scissors or come up with new ways to use them, and then just use the pointy black ones for crafts. So that's my little haircutting story, and I really like these scissors, but wish they were offered in a larger size. I recommend them, though, because you can't go wrong with good quality. Also, if anyone's interested, they can be held up with a magnet. I have an array of cuticle scissors, toenail scissors, a nail file, etc., held up by magnets on the inside of my medicine cabinet and I just added these to the collection. They don't really hold strongly with the magnets I have, but they do hold. I know a lot of people say that stainless steel is not magnetic .... but I don't think that's true, at least in every case. My cuticle scissors (actually, curved embroidery scissors) are shiny and certainly stainless, and they hold the magnet very well. So anyway, my point is that you shouldn't let their moderate magneticness deter you from buying these, and you should consider their magnetic abilities to be a bonus. You could even store these in a drawer with a magnet attached to them, and add snap hair clips or duck billed metal hair clips to the magnet to use when cutting hair, and so all of your supplies would be held together in one bundle by the magnet. I do that with my snap clips and bobby pins, to keep them magically accessible and separated from the elastics and scrunchies.

I keep these safely tucked in a desk drawer. ONLY for certain times of hair cutting. Smooth and sharp, just what I need for my curly, fine locks. But the family manages a few uses from time to time---with my permission, of course! Worth the cost and they are exactly what I was after!

I'm not a hairstylist or anything but I do trim my hair by myself at home. I may have also attempted to give myself curtain bangs a few times. I needed some not so expensive hair cutting scissors and these were perfect. It is very sharp and does what I need it to do. A nice upgrade from craft scissors. It makes cutting my hair so much easier.

I am not a pro barber, but I have had some experience in maintaining my family members' haircuts for years. Those times, I had pretty good professional shears too, but I left them behind when I moved to a new place. Now I needed to cut someone's hair again, so I purchased these shears. My choice was mostly based on very good reviews and a reasonable price. The shears surpassed all my expectations. They have very comfortable grip, they are convenient to work with and extraordinary sharp! With these shears, I can cut hair ends half an inch from my fingers without the hairs slipping along the edges. This is how barber's shears ought to be! Let me comment on some complaints in other reviews. Yes, the shears come wet in the transparent plastic pack, but this is not water, and they are not used. This is high quality clean machine oil to avoid stains. Well, I am not sure why stainless still needs to be protected from stains… Of course, the fine cutting edge may be more susceptible… Anyway, it's better to be safe than sorry. Just wash the scissors with soap and soft sponge after receiving and you'll be all set. Another common complaint is small hole where the thumb does not fit. The first thing they teach you at barber's courses is that you should never push your thumb through the hole (see the picture labelled "Wrong"). You should put only the tip of the thumb inside (see "Right"). This is because you should be able to quickly fold the shears in your hand ("Hand folded") and then use the thumb and forefinger to hold the comb ("Use comb"). Well, if your ring finger does not fit into the hole, that would be a different matter; you won't be able to use the shears. Just in case, the ring finger hole is 13/16" by 5/8" (21 by 16 mm), something like #9 finger ring size (USA).

If you are going to cut one hair on your head, you should have sharp hair cutting scissors. I watch people online hacking through hair with scissors meant for paper, cloth, and plastic. It makes a world of difference to have a nice clean cut with your scissors. Get these for your hair and don't use them for anything else not even once!

This is the best hair scissors I have used. I just purchased a second pair. I tried another more extensive scissors when my last long-time hair scissors showed signs of wearing. The other one was claimed was made in German. But they don't match my general impression of German-made product. It became blunt very quickly, and I could not adjust it by tightening the screw. This one is sharp out of the box. It cut so smoothly and sharp. I appreciate the feeling of its weight and it is well balanced in hand. Highly recommended.

when you consider the price of a haircut, these scissors are a gold mine. It is very easy to give yourself a good haircut. just Be cautious not to cut off too much hair at the same time. I use two fingers to grab my hair and remove the excess, all over my head. believe it or not, it results in a very nice haircut.

🎵 they cut through all hair with the greatest of ease...🎶 with your high standards these things will appease! 🎵 These scissors are budget priced, but not cheaply made! Several years ago my wife went to beauty school, and we paid a LOT! For her basic barber kit like just the hand tools nothing powered. I looked up her scissors and they were between $100, and $150 I can't remember exactly. Well she is a o.t.r trucker, and I am sadly disabled due to a major spinal injury. Anyway we have 4 Persian cat babies and she would prune them with her scissors I would brush mine out for hours a day, and after my injury I couldn't do it. When my wife came home she used her scissors to get the mats I couldn't get with my fingers. ( I had to tighten up the screw up in hers for the fine fur) So I offered these from reviews, and I was/am AMAZED at how they perform! They slice through thick Matted cat fur like butter! If you ever clipped a matt you know it with get between the flats of the blades and squish it. NOT THESE SISSORS! you know a matt will have some small amount of dirt or dust in it and it will dull clippers and scissors. Again not these! You know scissors get loose and are a pain to tighten. Yeah again not these! The screw on these is actually attached to one side and on the other is a spring plate with a locking thumb not so to tighten them you use your finger, and you feel the clicks as you turn it so you know it won't loosen back up on you unless you physically do it! Why cany the people that make all scissors do this? My only wish is that they made the finger holes slightly bigger, but it's really not that big of a deal. My pair straight out of the box were so sharp they would slice paper with one blade only! Wish I could rate them 10 stars!
