Excellent product, fast shipping, and very well packaged. The paddles are very sturdy and very well made. The handles have a really nice grip compared to what we have seen at the local box store and the wood is smooth. I also appreciate that the edges of the paddles are very smooth, some that I've seen in stores are not. This is a great beginner set to see if you like the game (which you should because it is super fun!) but it is quality enough that you can play with this set for a long time. I contacted the seller by email with a question and received a super fast response. they also email you with an ebook that is very helpful in explaining the game, how to play, rules, etc. If I can get my husband more interested in playing pickleball regularly with me, then I will upgrade to composite paddles which I will definitely purchase from this seller. Then I will save these wood paddles for guests to use to play with us (which you will find that happens a lot, it is an addictive game and not difficult to learn). I highly recommend this product and also this seller.

Finding a good Pickleball set can be really hard. It's hard to know if you're getting good paddles. Our family loves playing Pickleball, and we tested the Amazin' Aces against the high-end paddles we have and a entry/middle grade paddle and the results were surprising. --- Weight. Are these too heavy especially for younger players? --- The Aces weighs 10.3 ounces. You might not think 10.3 ounces is a lot, but if a paddle is too heavy, it can start to become an issue. Here's the paddle's we've tested. Here's what we experienced. As an adult, the weight was just fine, and I like my 7.5 ounce Franklin Python. The lighter you go, the more expensive the paddle (usually). The Python that I use is made from Aluminum, we also have a Franklin Viper, a carbon fiber paddle that weighs 8.2. Both cost a pretty penny $60-90. We also have a Franklin Volt which weighs 10.5 and costs about $10. A lighter paddle is important, but it's not everything. A lot has to do with how the paddle is balanced. The Aces feel great because of the longer handle. I'll post a picture with the review comparing the Franklin Volt which weighs almost the same but does not feel as great. The longer handle gives the Amazin' Aces a better feel in my hand than the $10 Franklin Volt. It just feels very well balanced when holding. We let our kids play with the pro paddles we have, and then play with the Amazin' Aces. Two of our kids actually preferred the Amazin' Aces. One of our kids like our pro one better, but that says a lot about the Amazin' Aces. The kids weren't bothered by the paddle's 10.3 ounces and had a great time playing. As I played, I thought the weight would be an issue. I'm so used to our lighter paddles, but I was totally fine with it. I have carpel tunnel, and am careful about my wrists. Will these become my paddles of choice, probably not, but they are nothing to bat an eye at and are fantastic when we take a larger group to play without hesitating to hand it over to a friend with excuses that the paddle isn't good, because it is. --- The Sound and Feel --- There's a great satisfaction when I hit the ball. Maybe I'm taking out my aggressive feelings, I don't know. :) But I love when the feel and sound when I connect with the Pickleball. I love how the Amazin' Aces connect with the ball. The knock when the ball connects with the wood just feels right, and sounds great. Now compare that to the entry-level Franklin Volt paddle which doesn't feel good when connecting with the ball. It could have to do with how the Volt isn't wrapped well at the handle. The Aces are wrapped very well, and have better padding on the handle. It could also be that the Aces slightly longer handle helps with the feel of the hit. Again, love that feel. --- Handle Grip --- The grip on the paddle's handle is very well wrapped. Even our pro paddles aren't wrapped the best. We found no issue with the top of the wrap (where we see most problems). It's tight, and well-adhered. The comfort of the grip is excellent, and the padded ridges create an even better playing experience. The wrist strap (or hanging strap) is nice, but not a must. If you've got people that tend to let go of the paddle, then it's not a pad idea. --- Any Downsides? --- There were too things that I felt could be improved. 1. I wish the edges around paddle were better sanded. They're not super ruff, but they did catch on some fabric I had in my bag making it harder to put them in my bag, and it just would feel better running my hand along the edges. It's not a big deal, and something I can fix with some very fine sandpaper, but I do wish it were already smooth. 2. The balls are good entry level balls, but they weren't super. We've got a 3-set of Franklin balls, and they fly like magic. We noticed that the Aces balls didn't fly as on target as the Franklin. I let my kids play with both brands, and they all picked the Franklins as being the better balls. That being said, the Aces are part of a kit, and at a pretty good value, so it's hard to knock them for that. For starters, the balls are not going to be a problem. Just FYI, there's no plastic guard around the edge of the paddle. Some paddles have this so if you set the paddle to stop a rolling ball, it doesn't damage the paddle. This isn't a minus, but just be aware. We tell the kids to be careful so they don't knick the paddle --- Who is this for --- I think this is for those who want to get started in Pickleball but don't want to buy a bunch of expensive equipment and find out you don't like it, but also wanting to buy something that's good. It's also great if you've already got equipment and want to have an additional set for when you have friends and family come, and you want to play with more people. I've uploaded a couple pictures to show how the handle size compares with the Franklin Volt Paddle and to show how well wrapped the handle is. Sample was provided for review.

This is a great introductory set of paddles for someone who wants a relatively low-risk and low-cost way to try Pickleball. I've picked up a few sets of these for teaching friends (and for giving to folks who want to start playing). The wood is reasonably durable, the grip reasonably comfortable, and the balls are pretty fine. The paddle itself is such that hitting with good technique usually sends the ball about where you want it, with a reasonable amount of pop. It's not quite as responsive as some of the fancier paddles, in that I feel like my control when volleying a high-velocity ball isn't quite what it could be. But it's still plenty enjoyable to play with. I did end up cutting off the wrist cords, but folks I've played with have been neutral or positive about them (those folks also come from racquetball, so are more used to them). I'll keep recommending this set to people I know who want a relatively inexpensive way to get started.

I ordered 3 of these starer pickleball sets over the course of a week or two and am very pleased - the kits arrived quickly, everything was packaged well and in good shape, and the kit contains everything you need to get started with pickleball. The paddles work well, and the grips are very comfortable - my only complaint is that the string loop at the end of the handle isn't tight enough to keep the paddle from flying out of my hand, and mostly just gets in the way while playing - so I'll probably cut those off. The PDF guide to pickleball was an excellent addition to the kit - very clearly written and full of useful info. All in all, a great bargain and an easy way to get jump-started with this sport.

The city made a pickleball court in a park by us. Looked like fun. We never played before and watched some instructions on youtube. These were probably the least expensive paddles we found online. We didn't want to spend too much incase we didn't like it. It was pretty fun. We were pleasantly surprised that we can use these paddles for quite some time they were so sturdy.

I just started pickle ball and wanted to get a great entry paddle to see if this sport I want to pursue. I love the sport! I have played 4 times with my paddle with about 8 hours of play. I would rate these paddles a 5 star except for the hand-grip. The tape is already coming off. I am disappointed because I have played paddle and racquet sports for many years and this hasn't happened this early in the purchase. I would assume after 4-6 months for this to happen. I also did not receive the mesh bag that was mentioned I would receive in the package. Not so sad about that as I am with the grip tape. Overall, I would recommend the paddle except for the tape issue on the handle. October 10, 2017--- Update: I just want to say that I am really impressed with the customer service. They reached out to me after they had heard I had an issue with the hand grip. They wanted to fix the problem and were prompt in helping me! I was really impressed and they are also sending me the mesh bag. I feel like this company should get a 5+ star after that. Since my review, I have played a couple more times and love the paddles and balls that came with it. Great Value Overall and would recommend this to my friends and family.

UPDATE: The owner, Paul, reached out to me promptly offering to send replacement. He and his company not only stand by their products but also went the extra mile to send us two replacements and included an extra graphite paddle (much more durable) for us to try. This is an incredible customer service and has made me a very happy and satisfied customer. The replacement package was delivered by UPS yesterday. Thank you so much, Paul! We couldn't be happier. My boys love their replacement paddles and are happy playing. We now are also confident that when it's time to upgrade, we'll be purchasing a more durable graphite paddles from you. To the folks who are shopping for pickleball sets at Amazon, you can definitely shop for your sets from Amazin' Aces with confidence. INITIAL REVIEW: My boys were looking forward to getting this paddle. Unfortunately, the quality wasn’t as good as expected. One of the paddle broke in less than a month. The wrap on the handle started unraveling and the edge of the paddle on the corner started chipping off after only a few plays. And yesterday, the handle snapped off from the paddle. Very disappointed.

Really great quality, especially for the price. The paddles feel very solid and are well made, but don't feel too heavy. The grips are also comfortable and you don't feel like they're going to slip out of your hand no matter how hard you swing. They do also come with wrist straps, so even if you are worried about losing grip, the straps will save your paddle from going flying. They are an amazing beginner set for someone just learning to play and these are honestly the best wooden paddles I've ever played with. The pickleballs are also of good quality and you don't have to worry about them breaking apart. Also included was some pickleball information for beginners that I think would help someone with understanding basic strategy and how to win games. If someone has never played before, it would really help them understand the basics and not over-think things when playing. All in all I'm happy with my purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy these again for myself or a friend.

I ordered this set because I want to learn pickleball, but don't want to invest a lot of money in equipment until I know how much I'll like the game. The first set arrived damaged. The handle had separated from the paddle, as described in other reviews. I was especially angry because there was a sticky note attached to the paddle saying it was defective. Things changed, however, when I contacted the seller. He quickly sent a replacement set and advised me to discard the first set so that it wouldn't inadvertently be passed on to another purchaser, as mine had been. The thing that set this transaction apart was the quality of the seller's customer service. I felt that he took a personal interest in seeing that I was satisfied with the product. Would I buy another pickleball set from this seller? Yes, absolutely! And now I'm ready to see if these paddles can turn this novice into a pickleballer!

I would like to update my review: This company has amazing customer service. The first paddles we received had an issue with the grip coming off with the plastic packaging. I had left a previous 3 star review. Without me even asking, they sent me new paddles along with a new grip to fix the other paddles. In my opinion, that is amazing service. I am very happy with these paddles, but am exceptionally blown away by the customer service! The paddles are nice for the price. My husband and I play with graphite paddles, but I was looking for something less expensive that our kids could play with. I am disappointed that some of the handle grip came off when we were removing the plastic packaging. It is not bad enough to warrant returning the item, but annoying enough that I probably wouldn't purchase the same ones again. Other than that, the paddles seem like very high quality for wood paddles.

We’re having a blast playing Pickleball every day in our driveway while we’re staying at home. It’s easy to play. We’re waiting for the net which will make it even more fun. If you have a flat hard space, this game is perfect for all ages. I’m a tennis player and had to give that up during the quarantine. This gives me a fun racquet sport to do in the meantime. Excellent quality paddles too. If you haven’t played, pickle ball, it is a cross between tennis and ping pong. The ball you use is similar to a wiffle ball. Our family highly recommends this set! You can play doubles too. It gives you relief from the stress and worry of life right now. Definitely a fun release both mentally and physically.

These paddles are a great value. Both paddles are nicely finished and the wrapping on the handle is well done. The paddles are made from one-piece of plywood so I believe they will be much stronger than plastic / poly paddles. Expert players may want something better, but we just want paddles that our family can use for years.

I bought the set for my kids for Christmas with our summer vacation in mind. We finally used the set and after an hour of play, one of the paddles started to come apart where the different layers of wood are glued together. we used it for a few more games after that, but the person who got stuck with that paddle had a harder time Getting the ball to go where they wanted it to. After I return from vacation I reached out to Amazin' Aces directly because the return window with Amazon had closed long ago. Amazin' Aces responded in less than a day and quickly sent a replacement set with no questions asked. If you are a beginner or ocassional pickler, don't hesitate to buy the set. The paddles are good quality and lightweight and if something happens to them, rest safe knowing that Amazin' Aces will take care of you.

I'm 76 and my wife is 73. We played tennis in our younger years, but have been away from it for some time. We heard about pickle ball from some slightly younger friends and decided to give it a try. We did our first "get-acquainted" session today and have discovered that we have to unlearn a lot from our tennis experience. We have had fun finding that our arms are too short with the pickle ball paddles, that the game is played closer to the net and that those remembered muscle movements are only memories. We did about 25 minutes and had a good workout--and we had fun. We agree that we will continue to use pickle ball as a frequent exercise to keep our backs and legs in condition and to get some good cardio minutes. It is easy to see that this game is probably best played in doubles competition, but we are enjoying just batting the ball around at this point.

At first I was not sure about purchasing paddles that were this price point because I wasn’t sure of the quality. As I thought one of the paddles did come with some of the wood peeling off the top and splintered when I used it first time playing. However upon contacting the manufacturer they promptly responded within 12 hours offering to send replacements because they are aware that the wood can sometimes warp and heat or cold weather. They even offered for me to try out one of their graphite paddles which I was considering purchasing after getting better at pickle ball anyway. Looking forward to trying out the new paddles and probably purchasing more from this company and they’re excellent customer service. Even if the paddles don’t come perfect they do everything possible to make it right with a customer. I wish every business were like this.

Update: We just experienced the best customer service ever. After posting a review about the grip material coming off on our original paddles, the owner of this company personally emailed me, explained that they had a manufacturing issue on a recent batch of paddles, and offered to make it right. Within two days we received replacement paddles and a hand written note from the owner himself. We would definitely buy from this company again! He also said they would be getting rid of the plastic wrap that caused the initial problem so future buyers likely won't be affected by the same issue we had. Overall the paddles are very high quality and our family loves playing with them. Original Comment: The grip material on the handles stuck to the clear plastic shrink tape so when you removed the shrink tape the grip material pulled off.

I am new to pickleball and didn't want to invest deeply when I didn't know if I would like it but on the other hand I didn't want to spend cheap and regret because I would have had to spend again for graphite or something if I decided this was my new favorite thing the the original purchase was subpar. Well I did a little research and found that wood paddles are recommended if you need added bounce to get your volleys across the court (which I do) and the graphite is better for someone who wants more finesse near the net. I am very impressed with the quality of these paddles and would buy a 2nd set if I had a couple I could play doubles with. Well made and a great value. Might buy that 2nd set.

We are new to pickleball, but these feel really good in the hand. They are well balanced and give a nice solid hit to the ball with a good-sized sweet spot. The grips are super comfy. Customer service is great. I complained that the grip on one of the paddles was inconsistently wrapped, and immediately they sent me a new paddle, with perfectly wrapped grip. There is more to these wooden paddles than meets the eye. I tried to make my own paddle out of birch ply, and while I got the same weight as the Amazin' Aces paddles, hits close to the front of the paddle just fizzled, while they work great with the Amazin' Aces paddles.

This is a great beginners set or for a friendly game. I just started playing about 6 months ago. I like the feel of the hits on this paddle. It does not bother my arthritis because there isn't as much vibration when you hit. I actually prefer this to some of the more expensive composite paddles that I tried. The cost is perfect for trying the sport. Be careful when removing the plastic from the handle. On one paddle, part of the grip pulled off and stuck to the plastic. However, great customer service! My husband contacted them, with pictures, and they sent me a replacement set within a couple of days. On the down side, very few people are using a wooden paddle. Most are using the more expensive composite or graphite paddles.

Product arrived broken - follow up to my initial review - I gave a 2-star review as the product arrived broken. Upon seeing the review, Paul, the owner of Amazin' Aces called to discuss the issue. I told him the only reason for the review was the broken paddle and that I couldn't accurately review. He profusely apologized for the issue and did the following: 1) issued the credit for the return product, & 2) resent the order for free. Not only that, he threw in an extra upgraded model of paddle. I am extremely impressed, first with the level of service and second with the product. We've been on the court with the items and are very pleased. More business will follow to AA as we learn the game and upgrade our equipment. Thanks for the excellent recovery Paul.

We live in a RV resort in Mesa, AZ, and although my wife and I are not retired, we thought we should give Pickleball a try to enjoy the resort lifestyle a bit. I was a competitive tennis player in high school and college so I was pretty excited about the chance to try out this new to us sport. The Amazin' Aces Pickleball Paddle Bundle is a great way for anyone to get started. The game is easy to learn and the quality of the paddles and balls exceeded my expectations. I look forward to learning to play and then perhaps moving up into some more advanced gear from Amazin' Aces. And I will certainly keep this nice set around for guests and grandkids. Thanks for a great product!

We got our set in the mail right away. We went right to the courts and loved the ease of using them. When we showed up for our first Pickleball game, friends wanted us to use their more expensive paddles claiming ours were too heavy. We disagreed and after hearing the weight of theirs and checking the chart of ours, we noticed that ours were only an ounce heavier. A few paddles from Ace are less than an ounce different from more expensive paddles than ours. We came home and ordered another set of two paddles so we can play doubles with family. The paddles arrived within two days, and in time for our family Labor Day party. Thanks for making quality recreational equipment at an affordable price!

Every thing arrived very quickly and I love the quality of the paddles, balls and even the mesh bags. They were packaged in a really nice box that I will keep them in to store in the closet until next time we are ready for a really fun time. We were introduced to Pickleball this summer and really enjoyed the game, our large family were coming together for Thanksgiving we ordered 3 sets it so happens that we ended up playing with all the paddles so we could play round the world,(we have creative married sons that have to get more action involved after a couple hours of playing the correct way.) Thanks for coming up with the game. It was really fun reading how it came to be. Happy Mom from Idaho :)

Although I just got this and I will amend my review later if this proves to be a non-durable product, at first glance it appears a fantastic value relative to what you would get in a retail store, especially if you prefer the wood paddles over the plastic kind, as I do (I don't like the rims on paddles, as they send the ball haywire when you hit the ball with the edge, whereas these may hit the ball straight even on the edge, as long as the ball is "more than halfway on" the paddle). For $22, you get 4 balls, 2 paddles, and a mesh bag for the balls. Seems to be well-built laminated wood construction and feels good in the hand. Big thumbs up.

The Paddles I bought are made very well. The grips are rubberized with ribs for easy control. An added strap makes the paddle more secure during play. Overall I give 5 stars for the construction of this entry level paddle. I am a beginner Pickle Baller. The two paddles came with a nice net bag for easy carry. The Pickle balls that came with the paddles had smaller holes than the balls used at the gym. The balls would hit the same as the gym balls. Much slower in speed when served. Other than the ball difference, I would recommend this purchase to any new comers to Pickle Ball. It is a good product to get you into Pickle Ball.

We are a family of 4 and bought this set to try out pickleball. Our boys are 10 and 8 fell in love with playing and ask to go at the court every night/day when possible. I'm very thankful for this 4 pack. We've been using it heavily for 8 weeks and they are in great shape. We make sure we don't hit the ground with them and that we don't throw them around. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants to give this game a shot. Our boys go play with there friends often now and have got there buddies interested in playing too.

If you are just getting started with Pickleball or want the ease of having your own court, this is PERFECT. The materials are top quality and exactly as described. The accompanying guide is great for beginners. Very portable net that's easy to assemble. Watch out! You are about to get hooked on a great game! Customer service on the product was exceptional. Nice to have an American small business to work with. Updating this after quite a while having the product: The equipment has held up very well - and remains easy to use, well constructed, and the company is very willing to stand behind what it makes. I have not actually used them yet, but found that the wood paddles last longer than the other kinds. These are for a VRBO who had a few different styles. They were all garbage but the wood had made it the farthest. They are stored in an outdoor storage box, so that may be why they fell apart in the first place.

We just started playing pickleball this summer as a family. It was simple enough that our children could play, but challenging enough that my wife and I could have 1v1 dual. Everyone enjoys it now. We first picked up a set that included a net, 4 paddles, and two pickleballs. Unfortunately, the net kept sagging, both the balls had cracks in them after 2 games, and the paddles were already falling apart. We decided just to find some good paddles and balls first; then we'll get the net. These paddles were very well built. They used 7-layer apple plywood and wrapped the handles with a comfortable 'sticky' grip. High quality and durable, even though we've only played a couple of times with them. I was very happy with these paddles over the first set we purchased.

Hello, My wife and I decided to take a class at the local YMCA for pickleball. I ordered the beginner's pack of 4 balls and 2 wooden paddles, and got them in the day before our 1st class. I also ordered 1 paddle with the honeycomb in the center to try it also. The first class we used the wooden paddles and the second class I used the honeycomb paddle. We've practiced about 3 days also, and we love it. I have back and knee issues, but needed to do something for exercise. These paddles have worked great!!!! And Amazon got them to me in short time also. Thanks!!

I don't usually post reviews but the people at Amazin Aces went above and beyond. I ordered a set of beginner pickleball paddles Aces and when they arrived one paddle was fine but one had a gap on the side of the paddle like the glue was not holding. So I emailed Amazin Aces and sent pictures along with it. Paul from Amazin Aces got back to me right and said he would send a replacement out right away. End of the story, I got my replacement paddle today with a very nice personal note, and Paul also sent me a Graphite paddle for "letting them make things right". Now that is costumer service.
